Year in Review: The Wedding

It is easy to pinpoint my most momentous occasion of 2011.  The wedding!!!

Parker and I got married on September 15th in the small desert town of Terlingua Texas.  Terlingua is just north of Big Bend National Park and is known for its abandoned cinnabar mines as well as the ghost town the miners left behind.  Parker and I visited Terlingua in late December of 2009 and fell in love with the landscape and as the people.  When planning the wedding, we knew we wanted to honeymoon in Terlingua.  Slowly our wedding plans morphed and began revolving more and more around the wild west Texas desert.

The ceremony was very small.  We invited only our direct family, and had the justice of the peace lead the ceremony in the ghost town church.  It was very short and sweet - no fancy bells and whistles.  We did hire a wonderful photographer in the area  (Crystal Albright) so we wouldn't have to worry about pictures, and I made a few pennant banners to decorate the church with.  That was all we needed.  It was absolutely perfect!
