The new year is like an empty bowl waiting to be filled with the things I hope the future can hold for me! I am making a few goals for myself while the year is still new in hopes that I will fill my bowl with things I've been meaning to do for a long time.
1. Learn to use my camera. I bought it on ebay over 2 years ago for about $20. I think I've shot 2 rolls of film with this thing... maybe four pictures turned out reasonable. I found You and Your Camera by William R. Hawken at a thrift store a year ago. Its a relic from '73 that I hope can renew my interest in learning a little about amateur photography.
2. FINISH THE QUILT! Even though I officially hate this project, I still think that the finished product will make all of the suffering worthwhile! I don't know how I'm maintaining this sentiment. There is nothing worse in this world than sewing Xs onto all of the white squares! It takes forever! I'm going to have to have some strong willpower to keep this project from falling to the wayside!
3. Read more. I have a soft spot in my heart for southern literature. Well, I just have a hard time reading anything else. I loooove southern Gothic themes! Through the last year I've read a few authors I hadn't heard of, but my ultimate goal is to become familiar with everyone from this list.
4. Get my craftiness organized. The closet in my nook of the living room needs some serious tlc. I got it looking okay for a while, but it spiraled downhill fast with all of the Christmas madness last month! I want to get everything really functional! Parker has talked about building me a little crafting table for my nook, but there are a lot of things I need to do before that fantasy has a chance of becoming a reality. I really need to hang up some shelves, get rid of some junk, and move those little sets of drawers so I can actually open them all the way.
