Today has been a nice slow day. I went to work this morning, and when I got home I wasn't motivated to do much of anything except read and nap.... And thats exactly what I did. I was really excited to start reading a neat little hippie book about organic gardening that Parker and I found at a used bookstore yesterday.
The book is Grow Your Own by Jeanie Darlington. Even though I just started, I can tell that I am going to enjoy reading this book. I really like how the author brings a small scale beginner perspective to organic gardening. Everything is based off of her experience with a 10'X10' garden in her back yard. Plus she drew cute little illustrations for the book too! I didn't get past the introduction today since I got distracted by her mention of planting times. This got me curious about our upcoming planting times, so I started reading the Farmers' Almanac. There is so much weird and interesting stuff in the Almanac it kept me occupied for the rest of the afternoon.
