I have had a pretty gross head cold for the past week. I hate being sick. I attempted to go about my usual business, but all I really accomplished was sleeping an inordinate amount. Today I'm feeling almost as good as new so, I'm trying to catch up on various chores that have stacked up around the house. Since I spent a good portion of the week in bed, my mind was the only thing I could keep busy. I started thinking about planning Parker's and my upcoming wedding! Parker and I got engaged at the end of October, and we have been doing a great job of putting off planning anything for the wedding. I've been thinking about it a little more lately, and Parker and I have started to piece together what we want to do. Nothing is for certain yet, but we do know that we want to have a back yard reception, and we want to keep it extremely simple. I've been having fun thinking about how I want to decorate. Here is a little inspiration from around my house!
I love marigolds, and I'm pretty good at growing them from seeds! Last year I grew several marigolds throughout our garden that grew to about 5 feet tall. I'm going to be more careful to read the seed packets when I get to planting this spring so I don't only grow the leggy variety.
I love these colors! Especially when you include the yellow lamp you get a glimpse of in the top right hand corner. I think it will be easier for me to match things within a large color range instead of limiting myself to two or three colors. So, I'm going to try to stick with reds, blues, yellows, and some green!
I know that paper doilies might be a little tacky, but I think they are so pretty. I love how intricately they are stamped!! I want them everywhere! I'm going to hang them from the trees!
